Walter Alexander
Walter Alexander, a multi-keyboardist born and bred in New York
City, has been a musical fixture in that area since his first major
gig with Johnny Maestro, of Johnny Maestro and the Brooklyn Bridge
fame. Having done everything from rock/fusion/R&B to blues
plus society gigs, and a two year stint with his own band Justin
Sane in the Boston area, Walter was still looking to expand his
horizons and assimilate all he could. After a very successful
run with Equinoxâ, a rock band with a very strong
following in the New York tri-state area, Walter again found himself
seeking out the influence of other musicians. He began working
in Hawaii, Hilton Head, South Carolina, and Palm Springs, California,
opening for such acts as The O'Jays and Frankie Valle. Beginning
in Switzerland on New Year's Eve, 1997, Walter embarked on an eight
month European tour with Stevie Cochran, a blues/R&B guitarist
renowned in the New York City area and Europe.
Walter relocated to San Francisco and now maintains a busy schedule
of gigging throughout the Bay Area. With the sum of all the
musical ideas and influences he has encountered during his years
of gigging and traveling, he has begun to do some serious writing
and will release a CD in the near future.
Walter owns his own recording
studio and has entered into a publishing agreement for
some of his works with a major New York City music publishing house
that supplies music for Hollywood film releases. He is a member of AFM and ASCAP
and eagerly awaits new challenges and opportunities.
