From the Blue Bear STAR youth bands to headliner Elvin Bishop and his band with special guests, to the late night show featuring Blue Bear faculty, staff and alumni, great music filled the room at our sold-out benefit concert - a truly memorable evening that helped raise important funds for our outstanding youth music programs. Blue Bear Live benefits Blue Bear's youth music education programs, and will be celebrated with musical performances by blues legend Elvin Bishop, the Elvin Bishop Band and very special guests including Tommy Castro, Bonnie Hayes, John Németh, Vicki Randle, André Thierry and R.C. Carriere.
Blue Bear youth bands from our STAR (Schools That Aspire to Rock) Program will open up the show, and we will finish the evening with a late night New Orleans style funk dance party featuring The International Playboys with special guest appearances by Blue Bear faculty and staff.
You can bid on wonderful items in our silent auction, with proceeds supporting the many innovative and expanding youth education programs that Blue Bear offers throughout San Francisco and beyond.
Blue Bear Live is a great party that draws support from our community - 30,000+ strong since our school was established in 1971 - and benefits our youth education programs including our STAR (Schools That Aspire to Rock) Program, Studio 101, Summer Camps, Scholarships and sliding scale tuition grants.
Since 2006, funding from Blue Bear Live has enabled Blue Bear School of Music to develop and implement numerous innovative music education programs serving hundreds of youth throughout San Francisco and beyond each year.
