Private lessons in a school environment are fun and inspiring.
You'll enjoy being around people who love music and learning!

Private lessons are ongoing and can be started anytime. Call to set up an interview with the Program Director. We'll match you with an appropriate teacher based on your interests, skill level and scheduling needs. Call (415) 673-3600 for an interview time.

New students pay an annual Blue Bear Music Community Membership fee of $35 to be scheduled. Annual Family Membership fee is $60. A trial lesson is possible without the Membership fee; inquire at your interview. Sliding scale support is available for lower income students - you can save $20 to $60 on four-lesson packages.

Payment for lessons is due at the first lesson, as detailed below.

Blue Bear offers you the flexibility to cancel lessons as needed for a $10 administrative fee. Two days advance notice is required; please see our cancellation policy and our refund policy.

Blue Bear has been providing quality private music instruction for more than 35 years. Enjoy lessons with an experienced teacher who is also a successful professional musician (teacher bios).

• Lessons take place at the school on afternoons and evenings Monday through Friday, and daytime Saturday.
• Lessons can be weekly or every-other-week (not available for half-hours).
• Drum lessons take place at an offsite studio near City College.
• Limited guitar and voice lessons are offered at Blue Bear @ Lennon (SOMA).
